Stasia's party was great! All of her friends had fun. They stayed up untill the wee hours of the night, 4:00am I think. They piged out on junk and giggled like crazy. Another year down.

The Big Count Down!

Stasia's birthday is almost here. May first is the big day. She is counting down the days, she is very excited about her party. She has decided that she is going to have an 80's party. Like that was such a long time ago...well to her, it seems to be. OH, I even found leg warmers for her to were on the big day! She found an older picture of Madonna, and put it on the front of her cards then printed them off the computer. I think that I have almost completed the many lists that she has put me in charge of . Today Stasia and I went to the good old dollar store and purchased items for her goodie bags. Jeesh things add up quickly! She wants two cakes. One to eat and one to put her face in. She has so many weird ideas sometimes. OH well, you are only young once. She is having six friends sleep over....it will be a long night. I will let you know how it goes.

We are back, and Stasia did very good! She competed in Kata with 16 other girls and came in 5th place. She also competed in Kumete (which is fighting) and she got a bronze metal! There were 15 girls in that category. So, I am so proud of her!

Yard work

Firstly I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend. We did. Stasia hunted for eggies and the bunny pulled through for her again this year. Spoiled as usual.
So my post title is yard work. Well, Stasia and I did so much work this weekend. We took two loads to the dump and we raked and swept and cleaned and we fertilized the lawn, there was no stopping us. The yard looked so beautiful when we were done. I even put a fresh table cloth on the outside table and put flowers in a pot on top. What a job. The next day, it was so windy here that all our work disappeared! Tree branches and tumbleweeds and leaves all over the lawn. the table cloth was dirty the pot blew off...it was horrible even my Christmas lights came unattached from the house. Now we have another weekend of cleaning the yard! Oh well, that's how it goes.
We will not be doing any work in the yard this weekend though. Finally the provincials are here. Stasia and I are getting onto the greyhound on Friday and won't be home until Sunday.
Anyway, I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend.

Immunization

Has your child had the chicken pocks? Well, Stasia has never. We went to the health clinic the other day, because she missed her Hep B shot at school before spring break. When we were there they told us she qualifies for the chicken pock vaccine. Well for some reason I was sceptical of it because it is fairly new. Anyway after talking to the nurse we decided to get her immunized for it. Did you know that if she contracted the chicken pock virus when she is an adult and happens to be pregnant, the baby would most likely not survive and if there was a minimal chance of survival it would be completely deformed. I was shocked! So I felt like I was not only protecting my daughter, I was protecting my unborn grandchildren. I could not believe that from chicken pocks, such a terrible thing could happen. So if your older child has not had the chicken pocks, I would think about getting some more information on what can happen if they get them when they are older, and maybe you might end up at the heath clinic too.

Well it has been a long time since my last post. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother. When I started I thought it would help me sort out my thoughts throughout out the day etc... or even maybe get some in put from others on certain topics, but it has proved to be a disappointment for me. So I am blogging just for me alone.
Every thing is going smooth around my home. Stasia and I are getting ready for the provincials. She is going to be great.
I Love karate. I don't know why I didn't join earlier? Fear of making a fool of myself I suppose. As I get older though I really don't care what others think of me. I like who I am and well, that is all that matters.
Hmm what else....Oh we are renovating our family room. Jeesh that is a test of Patience. It will be so nice to see our visions come to life. I wish I had a camera to show you all the before and after affect. OH well.
